Q: How long is the rental agreement?


Rental agreements are month-to-month and automatically renew until cancelled.





Q: How do I pay my monthly rent?


You can pay online, at one of our two drop box locations, or mail a check or money order. We accept cash, check, ACH debit and most major credit cards including MasterCard, VISA, Discover and American Express.





Q: When is rent due?  


Rent is due on the same day of every month as the day you sign your lease and past due on the 10th day after your due date. To avoid late fees, we recommend setting up autopay.





Q: Can I get a discount if I commit to a longer stay? 


You receive 1 free month when you pay in advance for 11 months of rental. Please call the office at 217-762-7883 to set up a yearly rental.





Q: Can I insure my belongings in storage? 


A&R Storage does not insure personal belongings. Contact your homeowner’s insurance for coverage.





Q: What can I not store?


Do not store food. No live animals or plants. Do not store firearms. Do not leave paint, oil, or gasoline in your storage unit. Drain all gas and oil from lawnmowers, etc. It is against the law to store hazardous or combustible materials such as these. A full listing is on the contract.





Q: What type of security does A&R Storage have?  


We feature well-lit facilities, camera surveillance, and personal disk locks for purchase.





Q: Do I need to provide my own lock?


Yes. And at A&R Storage you can purchase a new, sealed disc lock. No one other than you should have a key to your lock. If you prefer to provide your own lock, you may do so, but it needs to be a disc lock.





Q: What accessibility can I have to my unit?  


You have 24-hour access to your unit.





Q: What do I do if I can't find my key?  


Call the A&R office for assistance.  We can remove your lock for a nominal fee.


 


  


Q: How much notice do I need to give for a move-out? 


We ask that you provide us with at least a 20 day written notice.  You can provide a written notice by email, mail, drop box, or at our office.


 


Q: What do I need to do to move out?


Please provide us with written notice at least 20 days prior to move-out. On your scheduled move-out day, make sure your storage unit is empty, free of trash, and swept.  Also, be sure to remove your lock so the property manager knows to cancel your account.


 


Q: Do you offer a payment reminder option?


We do offer a payment reminder service.  Just make sure there is an email associated with your account and you will receive a payment reminder email 7 days prior to your due date.
